  2. Strategic objectives for five years (2010-2014) are:
    1. Control of drug and food is done efectively to protect consumen in and abroud with good category system in ASEAN.
    2. Realization of modern laboratory for drug and food control with network throughout Indonesia with best competency and capability in ASEAN.
    3. Increased competency, capability, and number of excellence human capital in implementing drug and food control.
    4. Implementation of quality management system in all NA-DFC work units.

    2. Policy direction and National strategy in health sector that become reference of development in drug and food control field.

      FOCUS 1st : IMPROVING MATERNAL HEALTH, BABY, UNDER FIVE AND FAMILY PLANNING
      Improving maternal health, baby, under five and family planning, through efforts that ensure of drug and food products which comply the requirement of safety and quality, that use in an attempt to :
      • Increase the coverage of active Family Planning participants;
      • Give food recovery for pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency; and
      • The achievement of high immunization coverage, equitable, and quality for baby, school children and women of childbearing age.

      FOCUS 2nd : REFINEMENT OF PUBLIC NUTRITION STATUS
      Refinement of public nutrition status , through laboratory testing to products sample, that used to attempt :
      • Macro nutrient intake, etc, to comply the nutritional adequacy rate;
      • Food surveillance and nutrient;
      • Gift complementary foods of breast milk ;
      • Fortification;
      • Gift food recovery for underweight children; and
      • Handling of emergency nutrient.

      FOCUS 3rd : CONTROL OF INFECTIOUS AND NOT INFECTIOUS DISEASE, FOLLOWED WITH ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION
      Control of infectious and not infectious disease, followed with environmental sanitation, through control efforts that are directed to reduce the proportion of problematic drug and food in the market, as one of the risk factor caused disease.

      FOCUS 4th : THE IMPROVEMENT OF AVAILABILITY, AFFORDABILITY, EQUITY, QUALITY AND USE OF DRUG ALSO DRUG AND FOOD CONTROL
      The improvement of availability, affordability, equity, quality, and use of drug also drug and food control, implemented through implementation of following activities :
      • Control of therapeutic products and household health equipment
      • Control of hazardous product and material.
      • Control of drug and food in 31 of NA-DFC Provincial Office
      • Laboratory inspection, testing and valuation of safety, efficacy, and quality of drug and food and coaching of NA-DFC laboratory
      • Standardization of therapeutic products and household health equipment
      • Inquiry and Investigation of violations in drug and food fields.
      • Inspection and certification of traditional medicines, cosmetics, and complementary products
      • Food inspection and certification
      • Standardization of traditional medicines, cosmetics, and complementary products
      • Food standardization
      • Surveillance and counseling of food safety
      • Distribution Control of therapeutic products and household health equipments
      • Control of Narcotic, Psychotropic, precursor, and Additive Substance
      • Valuation of therapeutic and biology products
      • Valuation of traditional medicine, cosmetic, complementary product
      • Food valuation
      • Research of safety, efficacy, drug and food quality
      • Development of Indonesian Original Drug
